oh so lush

August 31, 2015

I'm one of those people who makes a shopping list consisting of things I really need and I always end up buying more than I intended to buy. Which is what, obviously, happened on my recent trip to Lush. They're the bomb.com when it comes to cruelty-free make-up products, they're completely against animal testing and that's just one of the hundred reasons why I love Lush.
I was in need of a new facewash and when I asked the saleswoman for some advice, she was more than happy to help me (she, too, was a vegan). I ended up buying the Kalamazoo Facewash (it says beard- and facewash but you don't need a beard to use it - haha) and it smells amazing, even my dad was impressed! It's so incredibly soft and it doesn't dry out my skin which often happens when I use other facewashes.

The other thing I got is the Tea Tree Water, which is a toner water. This is super oily but it leaves my skin feeling refreshed and really soft. As I mentioned before, I have extremely dry skin and I hate that feeling so I like to freshen my face up sometimes.

The bubblegum lipscrub is something I bought a few months back, but I thought it would look good on the photos, haha.

Kalamazoo Facewash: €9,95 / Tea Tree Water: €6,95

the american adventure · part 3

August 28, 2015

Hello and welcome to another episode of... Okay, let's not start off the third and last part of my American Adventure series that way. It's just too cliché. In this part, I'm taking you from San Francisco to Morro Bay, Beverly Hills and finally, the not-so-shiny Hollywood. If you missed the previous stories, you can read them here (part 1) and here (part 2).

short skirts and flowers

August 25, 2015

Long time no see! It feels like it's been super long since I last talked to you and I almost forgot what blogging was, haha. Just kidding. The weather in Belgium has been a mess lately, it's either really sunny and hot or rainy and cloudy which is really annoying when you want to take outfit photos. Plus, I didn't really feel like charging my empty camera battery because I kind of maybe lost my charger? I did find it back just today so I charged my battery and hopped outside for some photos!
I'm wearing quite a simple outfit, but rainy days just ask for cute outfits. I already mentioned on Instagram how much the blouse underneath my skirt is bothering me. I tried to make it look more elegant by hiding the front bit under the skirt but apparently that just didn't want to work, haha. Anyway, I will be posting again on Friday and you'll know why I'll be doing so by then... See ya!

flawless skin miracles

August 22, 2015

I recently decluttered my make-up vanity and decided I would no longer buy make-up unless there's an emergency. So, running out of concealer, which is an emergency (haha), meant I would have to buy a new product and that's what I did! I first did some research on cruelty-free make-up and came to the conclusion that Catrice, my favorite brand, was safe to use and buy, yes!

the american adventure · part 2

August 21, 2015

Here I am again with my short stories of the things I did in America and I'm hoping you'll get an idea of what is definitely worth visiting in America. If you somehow missed the previous part, you can read it here. Let's get started!

diy necklace storage

August 18, 2015

Every girl (or boy) has gone through the horror of trying to untangle necklaces. It's the worst! I wanted to make something super easy that would suit my room decor and I didn't want it to be too expensive. Nature is free, so I took a stick, some string and a couple hooks. Ten minutes later I'd completely diy'd a necklace holder and it was indeed super cheap and easy!

a sad survey story

August 17, 2015

http://kwiksurveys.com/s/QdNW6rZr

I remember creating a blog survey for my readers a year ago and I was so excited to see the results. I posted the survey on Facebook and I mentioned it on my blog, and that was it. When I opened the survey to see the results, I noticed that only three people had filled out the survey and I had about 300 followers (in total) on my social media accounts and my blog. So, having nearly 1000 followers combined (social media + blog), I thought it was time for a new survey with (hopefully) more replies than last time, haha.

So, sorry about the drama queen act and let's just get to the point where I ask you to (pretty pretty please) fill out the new survey? (ps: the cat on the photo was supposed to look cute and not angry but I couldn't find a cuter one than this) It takes only one minute and I swear it'll be totally worth it!

Another thing I wanted to talk about is a Q&A I might be doing sometime soon if you guys want to. :) You can leave your questions in a comment below. (If you have any questions about veganism, blogging in general, my private life,.. it's all welcome!)

the american adventure ·part 1

August 14, 2015

I'm so sorry it took so long for me to finally upload my travel diary. I do have a valid reason for it though: I simply forgot about it. Don't get me wrong, traveling to America is unforgettable (I'm not joking around for once), but I'm somehow too lazy to start writing the diary and editing the photos. I'll be uploading a part of my travel diary once a week because there's just too much to show you guys in one post. :)

miss fancy pants

August 11, 2015

Someone has to teach me how to pose for pictures, it's getting out of hand. After three years of blogging I still feel uncomfortable standing in front of my camera whilst showing off my clothes. I'm either scared that my neighbours are going to see me and think I'm weird and narcissistic or I'm not sure whether to smile or to look angry at my camera. (Let's be honest: why do models always look like they're about to cry? Just saying.)
I'm rambling on about nothing again, sorry about that. It's been super hot today and I still feel like I'm going to start melting any second now. I wore a see-through top so I wouldn't catch fire in the heat and I also wore some fancy shorts because they are so comfortable and light. I wore them all the time back in America because everywhere I go, it seems to be warm and sunny. (I'm starting to think I'm the sun herself *hair flick*) (Please note the sarcasm) (Why do I write between brackets?) I hope you're all having a lovely day!

august inspo

August 10, 2015

It's that time of the month again where I show you everything that has inspired me to change my lifestyle/room decor/eating habits and to be honest with you, not much has changed. I'm still obsessed with everything white, I haven't done a proper workout in weeks and I'm still a vegan, trying to convince people that eating animals is a crime and we should all think twice about the food on our plates. (Sorry for ranting...again) But, since we all need a bit of inspiration once in a while, I'm writing this post anyway. I hope you enjoy!

diy hanging macrame organiser

August 8, 2015

As I've probably mentioned a thousand times before, I'm redecorating my bedroom and I want to optimize my bedroom space. I came across this diy and I knew I just had to try it. Just like all the other diy's on my blog, this one is super simple, super cheap and super pretty!
I picked up three flower pots from Ikea and some basic white rope and I started knotting and this is the result! I love it! Click here to see the diy.

the best vegan chocolate chip cookies

August 5, 2015

I'm always looking for good vegan desserts and when I found this recipe for the BEST vegan chocolate chip cookies in the world, I knew I just had to give it a try. I mean, who doesn't love a great cookie with chocolate (yum!) that's vegan? I got all the ingredients, made the dough, baked the cookies and oh my, these really are delish and so addictive! Let's start baking!

nameplate diy

August 4, 2015

The weather outside is awful, it's rainy and windy which means I'll have to spend the day indoors. So, I decided to do some diy's to keep me entertained and when scrolling through A Beautiful Mess (their blog is diy/design heaven, I swear), I found this perfect desk decor diy idea.
