STYLE | Stripy and Vintage in Valencia

August 28, 2016

Whilst visiting Valencia, I kindly asked my brother to take outfit photos because I really loved the combination of the stripy loose blouse and the vintage Levi's shorts. I got the blouse in Altea the day before and the watch I'm wearing is from a shop on the beach in Calpe. It was boiling hot that day in Valencia and we (my brother, dad and me) were constantly searching for places to hide from the sun.

I'm pretty sure we walked about 12km that day and we were a sweaty mess once we were back at the car to drive home. Nevertheless, it was a great day and Valencia is worth a visit when you're visiting the Costa Blanca.

Back to the outfit: I wore these cute espadrilles all day and at the end of the day my feet were nearly killing me (I forgot to take proper walking shoes with me on holiday so these ones were the only shoes I had). But overall, this is a great outfit to wear when you're visiting a city like Valencia.

TRAVEL | Packing Light for Paris

August 25, 2016

Some people have a disgust for holiday packing and they prefer throwing anything they can find in their suitcase because they'll somehow manage to put an outfit together when they're traveling. That's not me, though. I like to plan ahead when it comes to holiday outfits and getting dressed in general. There's nothing that stresses me out more than not being able to find pieces that fit together when I'm in a hurry. I prefer spending more time eating my breakfast and enjoying the view than diving into my suitcase and not being able to find a proper outfit.

I don't have a list of things I really need to take with me on holiday, but I do follow the same rules every time I pack for a holiday. I'll be spending four days in Paris with my best friend in about two weeks, which means I'll need clothing that looks classy but is comfortable enough for long walks in the city. Depending on the type of traveling you'll be doing, your travel basics will vary, of course. This is what I'm packing for four days in Paris. Let's get cracking, I'd say! PS: you can find the full list HERE (and you can print it out!)

The basics

First things first: the basics. My mum always used to tell me not to forget my underwear, pj's and socks (I forgot to take underwear with me twice when I was a little kid). I thankfully no longer forget to pack these things. Just a quick tip: always take 2 more pieces of underwear with you, just in case! I always like to pack two dresses for a night out or for sunny days. Trousers are a basic in your suitcase because you don't want chilly legs on a rainy day and you're not always allowed to wear shorts or dresses depending on the country you're visiting. I didn't add any shorts to the list because I simply don't wear them when I'm visiting Paris. I prefer packing them for beach holidays or I just wear them when I'm home.

Packing shoes is always such a hassle to me. My feet always start hurting after a couple of hours so I have to pack more than one pair. I usually take a comfortable pair for walking with me and a more fancy pair to wear when I'm going out for dinner or when I'm not planning on doing a lot of walking.

Toiletries

Don't overdo on the toiletries. I always tend to take more things with me than I actually need so I definitely need a list when it comes to packing toiletries and bathroom basics. You really don't need three different types of body lotion and one cleanser is usually enough. I pack travel containers because there's no point in taking large bottles of bodywash or shampoo with me.

Miscellaneous

Depending on the country you're traveling to, these items may vary. Since I'm going to Paris, I need to be ready for all weather circumstances. It might be rainy one day and super sunny the next so you never know!

As mentioned before, you can find the full list on Pinterest and you can print it out if you want to keep it with you at all times. Would you like to see a packing list for longer holidays and what are your travel essentials?

STYLE | A Lace Playsuit in Altea

August 21, 2016

Playsuits are my favorite things to wear when it's hot, you're planning on walking a lot (especially when it's in a windy city like Altea) and you've got no outfit inspiration whatsoever. So, when I'm packing my suitcase for my travels, I always pack a playsuit. Whether it's a denim one or this one, made out of plain black fabric but with adorable lace detailing on the sleeves.

Whilst walking and discovering Altea, it was around 35°C and it was extremely windy. I wore this lovely playsuit with some comfy espadrilles and my old but favorite sunglasses. I like to keep my clothing simple when I'm traveling because it makes it so much easier to prep your outfits. If you have to mix and match prints, it takes up too much time in the evening when I'd rather be sleeping or in the mornings when I prefer reading a book on the balcony. I'd love to know what your favorite travel outfit is!
