GHENT

September 30, 2013

I went to Ghent today with my teacher and classmates, which was quite a lot of fun actually. Although I missed my train in the morning, I was able to catch another one and so I made it to Ghent eventually. Yup, my day started quite adventurous as you can say.

We visited ‘the Gravensteen’ and a huge church, which was really beautiful. Actually, Ghent was really beautiful everything there had an ancient touch. I can’t wait to study ‘Fashion’ there next year!
I also bought two lovely items there, a dress from H&M and a wallet from Bershka. Both were really inexpensive, I paid about €5 for the dress and €8 for the wallet, yeah, I did some good business there! ;) xxx Nausikaä

HAIR INSPI

September 29, 2013

My hair has always been something that was not really important to me. I woke up, combed my hair and that was it. Or actually, it still is. I used to have really long hair, almost touching my bum, and then suddenly, I had enough of it. I asked the hairdresser to cut off 40cm, which is quite a lot I think. Now I'm stuck with short hair and I can't braid it, I can't make a cute bun, I just can't do anything with it. I have tried a zillion things and so I decided to let it grow again, partly because I just love the pictures of this hair inspiration post. You can say I'm a bit jealous of these people, haha. Anyways, let me know what your thoughts are on this post and what do you do with your hair on a normal day? Braid it, make a cute bun or just leave it the way it is? xxx Nausikaä

STOP BULLYING

September 23, 2013

Everybody knows it happens, every day and everywhere, but no one really does something against it. ‘Bullying’ is what it’s called and we all get confronted with it somehow, we see it happen, we feel it when it happens to us or we’ve done it when we were younger and unknowing of the consequences. There’s no way of denying it, but we try to avoid it.
You’ll probably think now, why does she start talking about it all of a sudden? It’s easy, I saw a girl being bullied today and I realized that I haven’t done something myself to stop it and get the word ‘bullying’ out of the world. No one deserves it and still, there is no real explanation why it still happens. Probably jealousy is what most people say, but are we that jealous then? I don’t believe it. I remember seeing it on the news once, an older guy (about 45 yrs) was being bullied at his work, they tied him on a pallet and he got kicked by his eight colleagues. They must have had a reason to do this, why? The guy’s clothes looked normal and he was just another person that you wouldn’t recognize in a crowd. Why did they pick him exactly. If it wasn’t jealousy, if it wasn’t because of the way he looked, why did they do it then? To have fun? I don’t know.
Anyways, what I mean is that you don’t gain anything by bullying, you only lose, namely your dignity. There’s nothing to be proud of, at all.
As you can see on the photos, I am wearing a green bracelet with ‘you are good’ written on. What does it mean? Well, it’s a campaign started by two young girls from the Netherlands, they wanted to do something against bullying and so they created these bracelets. It’s a good idea, I personally think, because sometimes telling people bullying is bad, isn’t enough. They’re just words, but these bracelets are real, touchable and show people that you actually mean what you say.
My message? Do something against bullying, not alone, but together. X Nausikaä

WATERMELON NAILS

September 21, 2013

Everybody knows I'm not very good at painting my nails, every time I paint them, half of my finger is painted too. Once you've washed your hands, the nailpolish around your fingernail disappears, luckily. But I tried my hardest to make my first nailpolish post look a bit professional, haha. I am nothing in comparison to Elien, she's the pro. I saw one of my classmates who's nails were painted in a watermelon theme and I actually really liked it, so that's why I decided to try it out. It's really easy, just paint your nails completely red, then you add green nailpolish at the 'end' of your nail. Done that, you paint some dots with black nailpolish and ta daaa, your watermelon nail is finished! It takes about ten minutes to paint all your nails and 5 minutes to dry. I hope you'll try it out! :) X Nausikaä

SCRAPBOOK

September 18, 2013

Those who have been following this blog for quite a while know that one of my favorite occupations is making scrapbooks, like this one. I finished two more pages of the book and here they are :) Page one is about friends, fun and love. Because I personally think that they are the most important things in life, apart from family. My friends are my foundation, they support me and I know they will be there for me when I need them. Love is something that every human being needs, everybody wants to be loved, right? If it is by your lover or your family or your friends, love is the sparkle that lights up even the darkest moments in your life.
The other page is about random stuff that I found in magazines and that I liked. It's meant to be relaxing and funny. You don't have to be serious 24/7, laughing is healthy, so there you go! :)
I hope you'll enjoy the pictures of the scrapbook and if you have one too, let me know in your comment! X Nausikaä

TOPSHOP WISHLIST

September 15, 2013

I decided to post another wishlist today, because it's been almost 6 months since I last did one. I love looking up things on the internet that I can't afford, it's silly, no need to tell me. But the day I find a job that earns €10.000 a week, you better get ready, haha! Anyways, these are the items from Topshop that I like the most. I didn't even realise that they were all sale articles until I saw the reduced price. Lucky me then! I ended up with a total of €143,00. That's actually quite affordable. I just have to find a job that pays well to buy the stuff. *adds 'finding a job' to her to do list* I hope you'll like the items! Nausikaä xxx

GUEST POST: YMKE

September 12, 2013

Hi! You probably know I love photography. Normally I just take pictures and try to make them special by the way I take them. But a few weeks ago, I found something new. I tried it and it looked very nice (in my opinion :p). I will show you some of my best (black, white and an colouraccent or two layers above each other). If you love it you can watch my tumblr about photography (http://mountainstreamphotography.tumblr.com/).
Greets and have a nice day,

COMBINED JACKET

September 8, 2013

Hi! Sorry it's been so long since I last posted something, but believe it or not, I have been quite busy lately. I've working on some shirts that I'm going to sell (I've started a little shop), school started again which means homework and my room turns into a bigger mess every time I clean it...
But, apart from that, I went to a closet sale in Antwerp today. This jacket was only €25 and so, I couldn't leave it there. haha :)
Love,

GUEST POST: YMKE

September 5, 2013

Hi, today I tried to change my room and make it more personal. I love my friends, but also memories are very important for me (I mean the good ones ;p). So I combined it all, my friends on the pictures of the good memories. I'm am going to explain you how I did it. It really depends on your choices. You can choose everything, the pattern, the place and the size. So there we go.

What do you need:
- Pictures
- Scotch tape

First you try your pattern on the ground, just to see if everything is correct and if it looks good.

Second you take a piece of scotch tape and you roll it up (with the sticking side on the outside).

Then you stick it at the back of the picure.

Now you are almost ready. The only thing you need to do, is sticking your pictures on your wall.

I hope you liked it. Thanks for reading.

OOTD: MEOW

September 3, 2013

Hi! It's probably the weather that makes me feel happy, although I'm not really a fan of sunshine and heat. But it makes the thought of a whole new schoolyear, ready to fill my desk with new curriculum, less worse. I have got some interesting (or not interesting, it's how you see it) news for you, I might start a little shop (quote me: LITTLE) of clothes that I made myself. It's actually more a diy shop, I am going to diy some shirts and sell them. The 'meow' shirt is one of my diy's and I want to make some more of them to sell to you or just friends :) The price for one tank-top will be around €10, to cover the costs and so I still have some money for myself. Elien and Ymke might help me with this project, but it's the beginning of something that might end up a little bit bigger, we'll see how it goes. So, what do you think of my idea? Sounds like a plan or should I wait until another idea crosses my mind? When I'm a bit more grown up :P
Have a nice day and please let me know if you're interested!
