Gone with the wind

February 28, 2015

One of the things I love the most is taking photographs in the wind. Everything seems more interesting all of a sudden and although the wind can be really annoying, I always love the result of the photos. With a soft wind blowing, I head outside with my camera, tripod and remote control. This actually the first time I took photos using a remote because my brother or a friend usually take pictures of my outfit. I still need to learn how to hide the remote control, but I'm really pleased with the result! I hope you like the photos and my outfit as much as I do.

What's on my face

February 26, 2015

I thought it might be interesting to write about the things I like to put on my face everyday to make myself look presentable. I like to keep it natural yet sunny and bright. A subtle blush on the cheek always looks lovely, I think.

I usually start of by applying my foundation and concealer on any imperfections. I create a suble blush on my cheek with some pale pink blusher and I apply a darker blush in the hollows of my cheeks to kind of contour my face. I know it might sound so weird, but I think it looks good. :) Then I add a sprinkle of highlighter on my cheekbones. To set all my make-up, I use a powder primer to make it last all day long. Last but surely not least, I apply a coat of mascara to my lashes. I usually also put some lipstick on or just a lip balm because my lips tend to be really dry in the morning.

Products used:
Essence foundation (04 matt ivory)
Catrice camouflage cream (010 ivory)
Catrice limited edition blush
Catrice defining blush (060 Rosewood forest)
Essence limited edition highlighter
Catrice prime and fine powder
Essence maximim definition mascara
Kiko lipstick (01)

Storytelling

February 25, 2015

I had a little photoshoot at a lake close to my house last sunday and I let my brother experiment with my camera. I'm actually really excited to take photos with my remote control, because I've never tried it before although it's probably easier to just let someone else take the pictures. Sorry for the braid that's sticking out from the right side of my head, I don't know what it was doing although it really bothered me while I was editing the photos. Damn it, you stupid hair. Haha. Sorry for the pink coat by the way, I'll get myself a new one. Someday. Probably not very soon. Maybe never.

That was quite dramatic, excuse the sarcasm and the silliness. I was wearing my pink coat (Memory Lane), a grey sweater and a black skater skirt (H&M). The scarf is from Bershka and the sandals are from New Look.

Monday mornings and cold coffees

Some inspiration for those boring Monday mornings when you'd rather stay in bed all day long but then life calls and so does your alarm clock.

My make-up vanity loves

February 21, 2015

I'm a huge lover of these lipsticks. I mean, the colours are so stunning, they last for hours and they're not that expensive. I think I've already written tons of reviews on these lippies, but I just can't help it they look so good on photos. I'm a lover of lipsticks, especially the ones that catch your eye. So, this is just a short post about my favourite items to photograph. What are your favourite lipsticks and which ones should I give a try?

Sandals and a pink coat

February 19, 2015

I spent the day with my best friend, just enjoying life (I sound so old when I say that), eating pizza and photographing. I'm so so pleased with how the photos turned out and I can proudly say that my best buddie is a pro at photographing. (I know you're reading this muhaha) I hope you like the photos as well and I honestly can't wait to show more photos taken with my new camera (Canon 700D).

The new toy

February 18, 2015

It's finally here! I've been saving up for months to buy myself a new camera, because the options for my old one (Olympus E-PM1 mini) were limited and I wanted to get more creative with photography. So, I invested in a new camera. After watching a thousand (or so) videos about this camera and reading tons of reviews, I hopped in the car and bought the Canon eos 700D. I am already stunned by the photo quality even though I've only had it for a day. Crazy but true. My Olympus was awful at taking photos when the weather was bad or the lightning wasn't so amazing.

I also bought the EF-S 18-55mm iS II F/3.5-5.6 lens and a remote control. I just can't wait to experiment with my new camera! :)

MAKE-UP VANITY/DESK

February 3, 2015

I've been waiting to upload my make-up vanity for what feels like ages, I guess it's always been in the back of my head but I never actually took the time to snap some pictures of it. But here it is then, the place where I like to paint my face now and then. My dad always jokes about it because he doesn't understand why girls put make-up on their faces and neither does my brother. They're part of the male species for a reason and to be fair, it would be weird if they knew everything about make-up.

Since I redecorated my bedroom, which some of you may know, I took the time to create a vanity and I must say I absolutely love it. The cute Ikea make-up holders - they're actually meant for candles but who cares - are perfect to store brushes and mascaras, lip pencils,... Anyway, I just really like the way my vanity turned out and I think it looks cute. The rest of my make-up is stored in the drawers of my commode because it would be a bit too messy if I kept everything stored on top of the commode. I love it!

I also have a quick question for you, I have been saving up for a new camera lately and I was eyeing the Canon 700D. Have you got any experience with a DSLR and if so, what camera do you use for your photos?
