SHOE WINDOW SHOPPING

April 30, 2015

One of the questions I'm most often asked is where I get my shoes. I do have quite a diverse and special shoe collection and although I've got too many shoes I still like to do some research. I made a list of shoes that I would love to have in my collection and maybe this post can be an inspiration to those of you who want cool shoes but can never seem to find any. I hope you like these and if you have any sites that sell superb shoes, please let me know!

BLOGS I ADORE

April 24, 2015

One of the things I like to do most on relaxing sunday mornings, these are rare in my busy schoollife, is reading through blogs. There's nothing more inspiring than visiting other bloggers with a totally different view on writing and photography. I won't lie to you, I rarely read the text of the posts, instead I enjoy watching their photos. Some of these bloggers, if not all of them, are extremely talented photographers and I can't not look up to them. I always wish my photographing skills were as good as theirs. Here's a list of my adored fellow favourite bloggers.

I'M ALWAYS DREAMING

April 21, 2015

I've recently been dreaming of living in Paris one day. It sounds so surreal and unrealistic, I know, but I've just fallen in love with the city during my visits and maybe one day I might just get the chance to live and work there. No wonder my favourite playlists on Spotify are called 'Paris', but 'New York' has been playing non-stop today. Would you like to see a list of my favourite playlists on Spotify? Just wondering.

I've also been really looking forward to summer and travelling to America. American Apparel, Macy's and Sephora are on my must-go-shopping list. We're travelling from Las Vegas to San Francisco and back to LA. If you're from America or you know some places I really need to visit, please let me know! XX

SUNDAY BLOSSOMS

April 19, 2015

Hi guys, I hope you're all having a lovely sunday! I hopped outside to shoot some outfit photos because the sun was shining brightly and I couldn't just stay inside in my warm cosy sweater and glitter pants any longer. Surprised? It's true, I walk around in golden glitter leggings when I don't feel like dressing up or when I'm planning on locking myself up in my bedroom to study. (That doesn't happen very often though.)

I wanted to wear my white flower cropped top, just because it reminded me of the blossoming trees (yes, I did think it through, first time for everything, right? Haha). I also picked out a plain faux leather circle skirt that I don't really like to wear, but it suited the shirt well.. Anyway, I hope you like this outfit and the photos!

MY LIPS BUT BETTER

April 17, 2015

One of the things I regret the most in my life is losing my Rimmel X Kate Moss lipstick (*jokes*). It was my absolute beauty must-have, but I haven't been able to find the same lipstick again, so I had to go on a trip to finding the perfect replacement. When I did some beauty shopping, I bumped into these stunning lippies from Essence. They're both 'my lips but better' colours.

Both lipsticks are not too pigmented, which means that you need a few coats for a decent coverage, but they feel so lovely on my lips. The lipsticks are not too dry, but they aren't very moisturising either. The colours don't survive a meal, which is a bit disappointing. I still love the shades and I can't wait to wear them a lot on a casual day. Both lipsticks cost €2,39 in your local drugstore.

SUMMER WISHLIST

April 16, 2015

Online window shopping is one of my favourite things to do, which is probably the same for every girl (I think). I've fallen in love with these platform shoes from Topshop and I desperately want one of these to become a part of my shoe collection although I'm pretty sure my mum won't allow it. I've also been on the hunt for a basic black skirt, but it's so hard to find one that I absolutely love. The one I found on Sheinside is so basic, but cute and it suits everything. I think it would look amazing if you'd wear it with the shirt I chose. What's on your summer wishlist? XX

UNTOUCHED

April 14, 2015

I wanted to do something different for this outfit post and go back to simplicity. I photographed myself and this stunning dress in the forest behind my house. I worked with natural colors: yellow, red and green. The name from the outfit post was inspired by the forest, because the trees and plants are untouched. It's a wilderness, but it's stunning. I hope you like this kind of posts, because you might see a lot more like these in the future. :) XX

ABOUT BEING YOURSELF

April 13, 2015

It always feels weird writing a personal piece on my blog, because this is a place where I share my outfits or beauty items. But this little place on the internet is mine and I should be honest with you. I learned from my past to create a lovely future.

Today I wanted to talk to you about being yourself, what does it mean and how do you do that? To me, being yourself is not having to hide who you are or pretending to be someone else. Growing up, I always looked up to my role models, like Miley Cyrus (yes, I loved Hannah Montana when I was 12), Jessie J who taught me to be true to who I am (so cheesy but at the time it got me through quite rough moments) and even Ariana Grande because she was so comfortable and happy all the time.

I went through phases where I thought I knew who I was, but I was pretending to be someone else. I tried so hard to please everyone around me or to fit in somehow. But being you isn’t about fitting in, it’s about finding your own spot. If you don’t feel comfortable or accepted in your current situation, then dare to look around you and widen your horizon. There’s always something else, or someone else, waiting for you.

Dress the way you want to dress, not because someone tells you what to wear or if you feel obliged to wear something you don’t like just because you wouldn’t fit in otherwise. Tell yourself it’s okay not to look amazing all the time. That imperfection on your face or the not-so-skinny stomach that you don’t like, it might sound crazy, but they are yours. They are your imperfections that make you to who you are and walking around with a smile on your face is always better than wasting your days being sad over something you can’t control.

Whatever image they’re creating in the media is fake, the person you see in the mirror is real, so keep it real. But most of all, accept your flaws and accept what you can’t control. Try to focus on the good and say goodbye to what makes you sad, because that means it isn’t worth it.

THE LITTLE RED DRESS

April 11, 2015

Move over, little black dress. If someone would've told me about three days ago that I'd discover my love for red soon, I would have laughed it off. Until this stunning little red dress found its way to my mailbox. This chiffon dress is absolutely stunning and it makes being dressed up so effortless. I love wearing this with a pair of cute platform sandals and a black oversized blazer.

I received the dress from Znu and honestly, I'd never heard of the brand before. They sell pretty summer dresses, cosy sweaters, cute playsuits,... The quality of the dress is surprisingly good, knowing it cost only $9,99. I ordered the dress a size larger than my regular size, because I didn't know if it would be loose fitting or a stretch material, but the dress is quite stretchy so I could've just chosen my 'normal' size. The shipping time was really short although the dress comes from the other side of the world, it took less than 10 days to arrive. I would certainly recommend checking out their store. :) XX

My dad's birthday cake recipe

April 10, 2015

I wanted to share my dad's birthday cake recipe with you today, because I am quite proud of the cake I made for my him. It's a basic cake as you all know it, but with some delicious special ingredients. How do you make this amazing dessert? Just throw together all the ingredients for a normal vanilla cake, but without the vanilla. Instead, add 150g of coconut powder, 200g forest fruits and the zest of one lime. It's that easy!

To decorate the cake, I added some blackberries in a heart shape and frosting. Ta daaa, your not-so-average cake is ready to be served! Have a lovely, sunny day! XX

XOXO

April 9, 2015

Hi guys! I had quite a productive day today, I did some brunching with my family, went on a shopping trip in Breda and ate a pesto salad. So, no my day wasn't really productive although it did sound very promising, didn't it? Haha. I didn't buy anything today, because I just wanted to help my brother find some clothes to wear. He literally doesn't have anything to wear (well, until now).

I was wearing my all-time favorite outfit. A plain, velvet skirt and a cropped sweater from Topshop. My pink coat from Memory Lane and my Romwe platforms. These are just some basic pieces I love to wear on a shopping day. What's your favorite shopping day outfit? XX

PS: SORRY about the awful picture quality, I honestly don't know what was going on with my camera... :'(

It's not my birthday

April 8, 2015

I wanted to write something about the outfit that I probably wear ninety percent of the time. Whenever it's cold or chilly, I never feel like dressing up and a pair of black jeans with a white shirt is my casual go-to outfit then. According to the weatherman, the weather is going to fabulous the following days so get ready for some super sunny outfit photos!

About the title, it's my dad's birthday today! He's getting so old now (jokes!). I made him a delicious breakfast this morning with scrambled egg and Champagne. I even decorated the table with fairy lights. Anyway, have a nice birthday dad and I hope you guys have an amazing day as well! XX

The badass jacket

April 5, 2015

Spring means cleaning, at least that's what it stands for in my head. I like to clean my wardrobe and give clothes I don't really wear anymore away. While doing my cleaning, I stumbled upon the bomber jacket I'm wearing in the photos. It's such a simple piece yet it makes me look a lot more badass. I decided to wear the piece with a simple V-neck shirt and black jeans. I'm not too fond of the photos, but I can't help it my face always decides to look weird whenever I take outfit photos. But it's the outfit that's important. Enjoy your day! XX

Cheers to the shopping days

April 4, 2015

I can't even remember the last time I posted a haul on my blog. I just haven't done much shopping lately, I've had quite a hectic few weeks and I just didn't really feel like buying too much stuff. So, when my parents asked me if I wanted to go on a little shopping trip, I just had to go with them. I came home with a few beauty products and interior pieces.

The first thing I bought is a foundation powder and a mascara from Action. I've never tried a powder foundation before, so I will review this one and tell you if I like it or not. The mascara was less than a euro and I also bought it to write a little review about it. I then got a Garnier hydrating cream. I'm currently loving Garnier products, because they work wonders for my skin. I used to have extremely dry skin, but it's starting to look healthier already.

The interior pieces I got are a cute white basket and plant pots for my growing cacti collection. My dad recently got me a larger cactus that was almost dead, but it's slowly healing (Yes, I treat my plants like humans hahaha). I'm pretty sure I'll end up with fifty cacti soon. Have a lovely day! :) XX
