THAT MIDI SKIRT

May 30, 2015

I was so excited this morning when my new lens arrived, I couldn't wait to shoot outfit photos and ta daa, that's what I did! I've been studying non-stop the last couple days and with three more weeks to go, I'm already looking forward to summer and the upcoming travels.

IT'S COMPLICATED

May 28, 2015

About a month ago, I posted a haul featuring two make-up products from Action. Those who are not familiar with the name: it's a cheap store that sells everything, from flowers to make-up to paintings. I'm not a huge fan of buying really cheap make-up products, unless the brand is well-known, like Essence. Since I was searching for a cheap pressed powder and a new mascara to try out, I decided to throw these two products in my basket and review them for you.

WEEKEND SKINCARE ROUTINE

May 27, 2015

Weekends mean relaxing and treating my skin. During the schoolweeks, I usually only splash some water on my face, put my make-up on and head out the door after having a super quick breakfast. All the stress and bad skin treatment result in, I'm sure you can guess, bad skin. I have redness and dry spots on my face that need some caring. I was recently introduced to Caudalie and their products have really improved my skin. I wrote more about their products here if you're interested.

A CHERRY TALE

May 26, 2015

I've been experimenting with photo editing lately and when I received this super adorable bikini from the Calzedonia summer collection, I immediately knew how to present you guys my newest stunning bikini. I've always been quite picky when it comes to chosing swimwear, I literally have the body of a 10 year old which makes it so hard to find a swimsuit that actually fits me.

LA JOIE DE VIVRE

May 22, 2015

Today was my last day of school which can only mean one thing. Finals are coming *dun* *dun* *duuun*. So the story begins. I wanted to post a decent outfit for you guys because I know I won't have much time to update my blog during this awful time of the year. Yeah, I really do love exams (not). One of my friends in school is a professional photographer and she wanted to take some photos of my classy outfit, so I could literally jump in the air of joy. Another friend of mine took some of these photos as well. Credits to both of you girls!

OH MY MIDI SKIRT

May 20, 2015

I've been studying a lot lately, too much for my liking even. But, something I dislike even more than studying, are bad results. My desk has been my best friend these last few days and I can't wait to take a well-deserved break in a few weeks. I've been living on green tea, blueberries, smoothies and water lately. Everything that keeps me awake and focused.

BECAUSE MONDAYS ASK FOR IT

May 18, 2015

Collecting inspirational photographs and quotes is one of the things that calmes my mind and allows me to dream. I always have big plans but I never know how to make them happen. That's why I invented my 'inspirational mondays' - series. I just look back on the material I collected and write some things down on my bucket list. Places where I want to travel to, clothing I want to buy or just changes I want to make in my life like eating healthier or going to the gym more often. Just anything. I'm sharing my list of things I want to do and I hope you enjoy watching and relaxing when looking at these dreamy photos. Have a good monday!

SWEET POTATO BROWNIES RECIPE

May 14, 2015

I've been really enjoying the vegan life lately, although I'm mostly just vegetarian. I slowly want to make the change from being vegetarian to being completely vegan. I'm not sure what I'll be eating in the future, I guess only the future can tell, right? Anyway, I've been wanting to bake vegan sweet potato brownies for such a long time and when I finally managed to get all the ingredients without one missing, I settled myself in the kitchen and got cooking.

What do you need?
3 medium sized sweet potatoes (500g)
85g of ground almonds
100g of buckwheat flour
14 medjool dates
4 - 5 tablespoons of cacao powder
3 tablespoons of cane sugar

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Start peeling the sweet potatoes and cut them into chunks. Steam them for about 20 minutes until they're soft and starting to fall apart. Put them in a bowl and mix them together with the dates. Once your mixture is ready, add the remaining ingredients to your dough and mix it up.

Put your mixture into a baking dish and hop them in the oven for about 30 minutes. They will look really soft and not ready once they're out of the oven, but they need to cool down for about 10 minutes and leave them for another couple minutes to cool down completely. Bon appetit!

FIT FOR SUMMER: A WORKOUT ROUTINE

May 13, 2015

Side note: being bikini ready shouldn’t be your main goal, try to eat healthy and workout regularly. Try to build in a daily workout in your busy everyday life and chose fruit over fatty, sugar snacks. ‘80 percent diet and 20 percent exercise’.  Watch out, a diet doesn’t mean cutting down your food intake, it means choosing healthy food over unhealthy snacks.

I have a tight exercise schedule, because I know I’d give up so easily without a plan. It’s so simple and easy to just sit in your comfy sofa or to lay in bed for another thirty minutes when you could be working out. I sometimes do struggle with getting off of my lazy butt and actually be productive. I mean, who wouldn’t chose another episode of Once upon a time over a run in the cold, rainy weather outside? Yup, totally me.

But, I’ve set my goals and I want to be able to say ‘I did it!’ one day. My workout-schedule is pretty simple and self-explanatory. I go for a 15-20 minute run every other day to boost my energy level and I do a workout the other days. I usually do a five minute cardio warm-up, followed by 15 minutes of ab exercises, a 15-minute leg and thigh workout and last but not least, a tight arm workout. This is my current workout scheme, it does change from time to time when it’s starting to get boring or when my body is getting used to the exercising.

Always set new goals and remember to keep going and push yourself whenever you feel like giving up. The results aren’t going to appear magically, although I think we all wish they would.

SUMMER NECESSITIES

May 12, 2015

The days are getting longer and hotter, which means my wardrobe is in need of a rehab. I've still got some sweaters and Doc Martens winter boots in my closet which doesn't really make my bedroom look and feel summer-like. That's why I made a list of things I need in my wardrobe to be completely summer ready.

I'm personally not a big fan of the whole Triangl bikini hype. Once something becomes a trend, everybody just has to have that hot item, which immediately makes it normal and basic. Something you obviously don't want when you're on holiday. Imagine every other girl wearing the same bikini as you, pure horror! I picked a two stunning bikinis from the Calzedonia summer collection just because they're so pretty and different.

Another thing I need in my wardrobe is a basic circle skirt and a crop top. Wear them with a hat and comfy sneakers and you're all settled! What are your summer basics?

A NEW CHAPTER

May 11, 2015

It took me ages to find a new design for my blog, until I bumped into my current blog layout on Etsy. I've never really liked the thought of spending a lot of money on a blog design, because it's something virtual, it doesn't really exist. But, I just thought why not do it? Live a little, invest in my blogging future and actually do something with my blog. I've had so many opportunities already and I want to give my readers something back for supporting me. So, a new design sounded like a good idea and so, a new chapter for Fashionatic is being written on a fresh piece of paper. I hope you like the new look and I would love to know what you think about it!

USEFUL ADVICE FOR YOUR EXAMS/FINALS

May 10, 2015

I've been seeing a lot of youtube videos and blog posts recently about increasing your concentration during the exams (or finals). I'm a student myself and I struggle with concentrating myself during the boring exams. These are my three tips for better results during that tough time of your life we all wish to be over quickly.

SKIN MIRACLES WITH CAUDALIE

May 6, 2015

I am the worst person to talk about skincare actually, I'll be honest with you. I'm one of those girls who'd rather stay in bed for a couple more minutes than to take care of my skin. Yesterday's presentation from Caudalie did change my vision on how to treat your skin properly. If you've never heard of Caudalie before, then shame on you (not really though) and try out their products. I've been looking for a proper foundation that will last me quite a while and doesn't try out my sensitive skin. It's one of the hardest things to do, but I succeeded in finding what I had been looking for.

TOO FACED ON MY FACE

On my trip to Hardelot, I did a little bit of shopping in Boulogne and picked up some Too Faced products. I bought a set of four famous Too Faced products to try out before buying the real stuff. Buying make-up is one of the things I love to do the most, but it's also one of the hardest things to do. Some make-up products cause allergic reactions and I don't like spending a lot of money on a product I might not be able to use. Anyway, let's just get started with the review. I would love to know your thoughts on these products!

TRAVELS: HARDELOT

May 4, 2015

My family and I went on a random trip to France, Hardelot, and I just can't get over the views in this village. The buildings are so old and everything is so white and clean. With the beach on your right and the buildings on your left you can't not take a million photographs. On our way back home, we also decided to stop for a few minutes in Cassel, which is a tiny village in France as well with so many amazing views and the village itself is so cute!

COOKING: APPLE AND STRAWBERRY VEGAN MUFFINS

May 3, 2015

I hope you're hungry and ready for a new kind of muffin recepy, because that's what I wanted to share with you today. I've always liked experimenting with food, as long as it stays healthy and edible of course, and since the vegan food world has always intrigued me, I thought I'd try out a new recipe without anything related to animals. This is the recepy for apple and strawberry vegan muffin deliciousness.
